A Methodological Approach to Handling Aesthetical Music Analysis in Public Schools

ABSTRACT

In public music education, great attention has been shown to the question of teaching method how to introduce musical meaning to them.This asks analytical approaches of a music teacher and his students. But music teachers pay scant attention to analyzing musical works in music class, since musical analysis is regarded as a difficult task for them. The purpose of this study is to highlight several aspects of understanding music in which aesthetical and analytic thinking makes a.11 appearance and to provide an alternative framework for taking advantage of them in classroom. This paper thus attempts to outline methodical models of teaching musical structure and aesthetical me詞ng. In exploring the question of teaching method which includes musical analyzing, this paper is limited to consideration of Western tonal music.Further research should be directed at determining how to analyze other music styles and to combine analytical results with aesthetical view for public music education.
