Study on Liberal Arts in University through connection of Music and Fine Art

ABSTRACT

The purposes of this study is to provide liberal arts of university through the connection of music and fine art, and suggest the teaching methods to enhance the understandings and interests for music and fine art. Therefore, the practical teaching details for liberal arts of music and fine art actually implemented in university are suggested in order for them to be used in classes. According to demand for changes of new liberal arts in the 21st century, the integrative approach among subjects or systems is currently discussed. Based on this fact, the connection of music and fine art both of which are traditional arts curriculum are recognized as main one and themes are selected from humanistic view. During one semester, a total of 14 sessions of 4 disciplines are suggested: history, literature, psychology, aesthetics, and in humanities. In addition, the class details of each 4 disciplines are suggested by one session in order for them to be used in actual classes.
