ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to identify perceived factors that influenced the curriculum satisfaction level between music and business majors in Korean universities (N=269). The Curriculum Satisfaction Inventory for Music & Management Majors (CSIMM) was developed for investigating the curriculum satisfaction level between music and business majors. The results of this study indicated that professor factors, such as the professor’s teaching and the professor’s expertise were perceived as the most influential factors impacting the level of curriculum satisfaction regardless of music or business majors in Korean universities, while the future career factors, such as preparation for the future career and condition of practice room were perceived as the least influential factors for the music majors, relatively compared to business majors. Also, the findings of this study pointed out that schools of music in Korean universities need to develop current curriculums more practically for the future career of music graduates and improve the condition of practice rooms. Recommendation and conclusion were provided for music majors in Korean universities.
