ABSTRACT

As John Dewey is called a completer of pragmatism, his philosophy is characterized by natural empiricism. Thus all experiences are being not only in nature but also of nature. This is that all experiences are not so much estranged from naturality but exist in a form of nature among many forms of nature. As music is in this naturality, the form of music and its substance are based on the naturality. Also experience appears in situation that shows general traits of nature, and this situation has a pervasive quality of nature. Thus Dewey’s naturality is core construct that controlled by the principle of continuity and interaction that are working in nature, and reveals the aesthetic naturality of nature, the naturality of human, and the naturality of ordinary. And it could provide pragmatism music education with as music education of finding the naturality of aesthetic world, as music education of developing aesthetic nature of human naturality, and as music education of having continuity with the naturality of ordinary.
