ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to develop a practical music education teaching and learning plan for youths in crisis linked with the increase of juvenile crime in Korean society. This study collected and analyzed practical music education programs of juvenile and foster care facilities, and surveyed 14 music teachers in Seoul Youth Detention Center. As a result, first, crisis youths needed not only to convey musical skills but also to share their values ​​as a teacher or mentor. Second, It is necessary to prepare the education plan in advance and use the class time more efficiently. Third, a professional teacher who understands the characteristics of crisis youths. This study will promote more efficient and provide the same class opportunities for students.
