ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to review the history of early childhood music education in Korea during the past 110 years. By researching relevant literature with pictures, the representative things or events like the proclamation of the National curriculum, the teacher training workshops, and the publication of the professional materials of early childhood music education were selected as remarkable historical points. As a result, the whole history was divided into four terms: First a birth period from 1910s through 1970, the second an attack period from 1971 through 1999, and the third a quantitatively blooming period from 2000 through 2019, and the period of rebirth from 2019 and future.
